In this workshop we’re covering the basics of how to start a business or work as a creative freelancer in Germany.
We will go over the most important steps and terms in German and English for every future solo entrepreneur. We will talk about tax numbers and how to register your business, the difference between VAT and income tax, defining sexy tongue twisters such as Kleinunternehmer and Umsatzsteuererklärung.
What’s the best way to stay organized? What are the non-obvious tasks I need to consider and how can I outsource tasks I am not able to do?
How’s my time management and how can I learn the best project management skills?
What insurances should I consider and am I eligible for German social artist insurance “KSK”?
We will take some time to answer your individual questions after going over the following topics:

The workshop is designed for singers/songwriters/recording artists and combines theoretical as well as practical elements.
In the first part of the workshop, we will warm up and get acquainted with the "Free Your Voice" method: “Singing without thinking”:
- Exercise: Breathing and sound production.
- Theoretical knowledge of the respiratory system
- Exercise: Pulling the sound forward.
*optional: with physical exercise tool
- Introducing the special “Free your voice” techniques for voice production
- Mental preparation: Dealing with limiting beliefs, anxiety and destructive thoughts, turning the gaze inside. Practice.
In the second part we will work with each participant on his song. (*In recording studio)
- Individual work in front of the group
- Questions and problem solving
- Song interpretation
- Controlling of the voice effortlessly
- Releasing on-line thoughts
*Each participant will have around 20 minutes of work.

Dieser zweiteilige Workshop führt Sie durch die verschiedenen Elemente, die die Musikindustrie ausmachen; Labels, Verlage, Live-Agenten.
Der Workshop erklärt den Geldfluss an Künstler:innen sowie die Abtretung von Rechten an Dritte wie Labels, Verlage oder die GEMA. Darüber hinaus wird der gesamte „Fachjargon“ der Branche und alle wesentlichen Aspekte der einzelnen Bereiche verständlich erläutert. So erhällst du das nötige Wissen, um dich in diesem Umfeld erfolgreich zurechtzufinden.
Zusammenfassend verknüpft der Kurs die verschiedenen Puzzleteile zu einem klaren Gesamtbild, sodass Sie einen umfassenden Überblick über die Branche gewinnen.

Ideal für Anfänger:innen und Fortgeschrittene, die ihr Wissen und Können erweitern wollen.

Nach diesem Workshop solltest du in der Lage sein, dich selbstbewusst in der Branche zurechtzufinden und besser zu erkennen, was für jeden einzelnen entsprechend der persönlichen Karriere/Wünsche wichtig ist und was nicht.

Der Info-Call richtet sich an alle Berliner Musiker*innen, die vorhaben, zur Antragsfrist am 17. März 2025 einen Antrag für ein Stipendium PLUS einzureichen, Fragen zum neuen Coaching- und Mentoring-Programm PLUS haben, oder sich auf eine Residenz bewerben möchten.
Neben Informationen zu den Förderkriterien und zur Antragstellung über das digitale Antragsformular bietet dir der Call die Möglichkeit, all deine Fragen zum Bewerbungsprozess zu stellen.
Stipendium PLUS und Residenzen
Antragsfrist: 17.3.2025, 18 Uhr
Auch 2025 vergibt das Musicboard wieder Stipendien und Residenzen an Berliner Popmusiker*innen und Bands. Die Antragsfrist ist am 17. März um 18 Uhr.
Erstmalig wird das Musicboard-Stipendium in diesem Jahr in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Music Pool Berlin als Stipendium PLUS ausgeschrieben: Dieses Programm ermöglicht den Stipendiat*innen zusätzlich zur finanziellen Unterstützung ein individuelles Mentoring und Coaching mit Expert*innen, die sie über mehrere Monate hinweg in ihrem geförderten Projektvorhaben unterstützen. Wir freuen uns sehr über diese Neuerung und dass wir als Music Pool dazu unseren Beitrag leisten dürfen – weitere Infos findet ihr auf der Webseite des Musicboard Berlin.
