Achtung, wir werden alle ab 19.30 Uhr im Studio und mit Euch im Chat bei Youtube sein, auch Regisseur Andreas Marschall. Nutzt die halbe Stunde vor der Premiere um mit uns zu chatten.)
letzte Woche gab es noch mal einen kurzen Nachdreh - Norri ist mit seinem Schlagzeug und Regisseur Andreas Marschall noch einmal hoch an die Ostsee gefahren, um noch ein paar Einstellungen vor der rauhen See zu drehen.
Nun liegt unsere Videoproduktion in den letzten Zügen. Wir gewben hiermit feierlich bekannt: Der offizielle Veröffentlichungstermin des Videos wird der 23. Februar 2023 sein. Ausserdem werden wir an diesem Tag noch eione spezielle Bonusversion des Songs "Víkingar" veröffentlichen - seid gespannt!

(Brief update: we brought the release date of the video on Youtube one day forward to February 23rd. Attention, we will all be in the studio from 7.30 p.m. and will be chatting with you on Youtube, including director Andreas Marschall. Use the half hour before the premiere to chat with us.)
last week there was a short reshoot - Norri went with his drums and director Andreas Marschall once again up to the Baltic Sea to shoot a few more shots in front of the rough sea.
Now our video production is in its final stages. We hereby solemnly announce: The official release date of the video will be February 23, 2023. Furthermore, we would release a special bonus version of the song "Víkingar" on this day - be curious!
For all of you who have chosen the "Digital Preview" or a higher value Reward, the exclusive video preview will take place here on getnext (under this link!) on February 17th!

Wow, das war eine tolle Erfahrung!
Einerseits hier auf getnext, wir sind wirklich gerührt über eure rege Beteiligung! Sicherlich fragt ihr euch, wie es nun weitergeht? Wir werden das Crowdfunding noch über das zweite Adventswochenende offen lassen, so dass Nachzügler noch bis zum 05. Dezember Zeit haben, mitzumachen :)
Die Dreharbeiten sind beendet, jetzt geht es in den Schnitt und die Postproduktion. Wir haben uns bewusst keinen festen Termin gesetzt, damit wir in Ruhe alles so perfekt machen können, wie wir es uns vorstellen. Anfang des Jahres werden wir sicher mehr wissen und können euch dann Termine nennen, wann eure DVDs, Bücher etc. rausgehen und die Vorpremiere stattfinden wird. Hier ein kleiner Bericht zu unseren Dreharbeiten:
12. November
Während Regisseur Andreas Marschall mit Norris Sohn Casimir schon eine Szene ohne großen Trubel drumherum an einem nahegelegenen See dreht, laufen in Lübars die Vorbereitungen auf Hochtouren:
Managerin Doro schwingt den Kochlöffel und zaubert einen riesigen Topf leckeres Chili sin Carne (für alle, die nicht ganz ohne Fleisch können, gibts dazu noch heiße Würstchen) für immerhin 50 Beteiligte Personen (Band, Filmcrew, Wikinger und Crowdfunder, die als Statisten teilnehmen, 3 Schamaninnen und und und...) und stellt mit Merchandiser Bu auch schon mal die Bar auf, an der es Kaffee und heißen Tee (nachts war es schon recht kühl), Met, Glühwein , Wasser, Limo und Bier zur Stärkung gibt.
Tourmanager Sebastian plündert unseren kompletten Kostümfundus und schleppt alles an Fellen, Lederzeug, Masken, Hemden etc. ins benachbarte Ferienhaus, welches uns unsere großartigen Vermieter Johanna und Alex als Aufenthalts- und Umkleideräume für unsere Statisten zur Verfügung gestellt haben.
Die wohl tollste Überraschung für die Statisten: als "Gewandmeisterin" kam unsere liebe Freundin, die großartige Katja Moslehner. Sie kümmerte sich rührend um unsere Crowdfunder, und fand mit viel Liebe und Phantasie für jeden das passende Kostüm und nahm mit ihrer bezaubernden Art dem ein- oder anderen das Lampenfieber. Katja, Chapeau!
Filmsetausstatter Jörg hatten dann alle Hände voll zu tun, den Drehort vorzubereiten: Der Weidezaun musste "Verschwinden", etliche Kabel wurden verlegt für Beleuchtung und Kameraakkus. Er und Sebastian stapelten das Feuerholz zu einem filmtauglichen Haufen - noch am nachmittag hatte Castus persönlich die Axt geschwungen und Holzscheite vorbereitet. Dabei legte er soviel Energie an den Tag, dass der Axtkopf in zwei Teile brach. Glücklicherweise hatten wir noch eine zweite Axt übrig!
Um 18 Uhr ging es dann endlich los - alle Statisten und Musiker wurden plaziert und kamen sofort mächtig ins Schwitzen, denn ein filmtaugliches Feuer hat natürlich auch ordentlich Bums! Zu allem Überfluss war Sebastian sehr fleissig dabei, nachzulegen, damit es auch immer eindrucksvoll aussieht.
Bis 22 Uhr zog der Drehabend sich dann hin, über die Details können wir nicht all zu viel berichten - wir wollen die Spannung ja nicht verderben ;)
Danach gab es noch einen netten kleinen Umtrunk, da war es perfekt, dass das Feuer sich nun beruhigte und auf eine einladendere Temperatur gefallen war.
19. November:
Morgenstund hat Gold im Mund! Die Ansage "7.30 Uhr Frühstück, 8 Uhr Abfahrt" gehört seit je her zu den schlimmsten Alpträumen eines Musikers. Wenn man dann aber die Gesichter der anderen Jugendherbergsgäste sieht, wenn eine Bande vollkostümierter, geschminkter Era Metallum-Musiker zu dieser unchristlichen Zeit das Wurst- und Käsebuffet belagern, ist der tag gerettet!
Bereits am Vortag waren wir mit einem Tross aus 18 Personen nach Kappeln an der Schlei angereist, denn der heutige Auftrag lautete: Wikingerboot fahren auf der Schlei!
Die Sigyn ist mit ca 14 Metern Länge und 3,5 Metern Breite eines der ganz wenigen seetauglichen Wikingerboote, und kann sowohl gesegelt, als auch gerudert werden. Projektleiter Harald Wiethe und Skipper Frieder mit seiner Besatzung begrüßten uns, vom Skipper gab es erstmal ein paar klare Ansagen zum Verhalten an Bord. Alles hört auf sein Kommando! Dann gings los, im motorisierten, beheizten Beiboot für Fotograf Heiko Roith, einen örtlich hinzugebuchten Drohnenpiloten und Sebastian. Mit dabei: Kameraequipment für Aussenaufnahmen, sowie Kannen mit heissen Tee und Kaffee für die Hauptakteure.
Die hatten es überhaupt gar nicht gemütlich! 2 Grad Celsius und Windstärke 4, wie haben das die alten Wikinger bloss ausgehalten? Regisseur Andreas musste ohne Kamerassistent mit an Bord der Sigyn (das Boot war voll!), und ward von weitem im Laufe des Tages in allen Möglichen und unmöglichen Positionen an Bord mit geschulterter Kamera gesehen: kniend, liegen, hängend! Hut ab, was für ein Knochenjob! Auch für die Musiker war der Tag kein Zuckerschlecken, ganze 6 Stunden wurden bei diesem rauen Wetter gesegelt, gerudert, und , wie es sich für ein Musikvideo gehört, musiziert.
Zurück an Land wartete Managerin Doro (erneut kochlöffelschwingend) mit heißer Suppe und Getränken, bevor es zurück in die Herberge ging. Heiße Dusche, Abendessen, Feierabendumtrunk! Aber nicht zu lange, denn für den Sonntag vormittag hatte Regisseur Andreas noch Aussenaufnahmen am Ostseestrand anberaumt. Also wieder für Aufstehen und raus in die Kälte, bevor wir alle nach einem ereignisreichen, aber auch kräftezehrenden Wochenende endlich nach Hause fahren konnten. Rockstar sein ist eben keine Hängematte ;)

Wow, that was a great experience!
On the one hand, here on getnext, we are really touched by your lively participation! Surely you are wondering what happens next? We will keep the crowdfunding open through the second weekend of Advent, so stragglers still have until December 05 to join in :)
The filming is finished, now it's time for editing and post-production. We deliberately didn't set a fixed date, so we can take our time and make everything as perfect as we want it to be. At the beginning of the year we will surely know more and can then give you dates when your DVDs, books etc. will go out and the preview will take place. Here is a short report about our shooting:
November 12
While director Andreas Marschall is already shooting a scene with Norris' son Casimir at a nearby lake without much hustle and bustle, the preparations in Lübars are in full swing:
Manager Doro swings the wooden spoon and conjures up a huge pot of delicious chili sin carne (for those who can't quite do without meat, there are also hot sausages) for 50 people involved (band, film crew, Vikings and Crowdfunder, who participate as extras, 3 shamans and and and...) and sets up the bar with merchandiser Bu, where there is coffee and hot tea (at night it was already quite cool), mead, mulled wine, water, soda and beer for refreshment.
Tour manager Sebastian plunders our complete costume fund and drags everything of skins, leather stuff, masks, shirts etc. into the neighboring vacation house, which our great landlords Johanna and Alex have made available to us as recreation and dressing rooms for our extras.
Probably the greatest surprise for the extras: our dear friend, the great Katja Moslehner, came as "garment mistress". She touchingly took care of our crowdfunders, and with a lot of love and imagination found the right costume for everyone and took away the stage fright of one or the other with her charming manner. Katja, chapeau!
Film set designer Jörg then had his hands full preparing the shooting location: The pasture fence had to "disappear", several cables were laid for lighting and camera batteries. He and Sebastian stacked the firewood into a pile suitable for filming - that very afternoon Castus had personally swung the axe and prepared logs. He put so much energy into it that the axe head broke in two. Fortunately, we still had a second axe left!
At 6 p.m. we finally started - all extras and musicians were placed and immediately started to sweat, because a fire suitable for filming has of course a lot of bang! To top it all off, Sebastian was very busy adding material so that it would stay looking impressive.
The evening of shooting went on until 10 pm, we can't tell you too much about the details - we don't want to spoil the suspense ;)
Afterwards we had a nice little drink, it was perfect that the fire had now calmed down and dropped to a more inviting temperature.
19 November:
The early bird gets the worm! The announcement "7:30 breakfast, 8 departure" has always been one of a musician's worst nightmares. But when you see the faces of the other youth hostel guests, when a gang of fully costumed, made-up Era Metallum musicians besiege the sausage and cheese buffet at this ungodly hour, the day is saved!
The day before, we had already traveled to Kappeln an der Schlei with a group of 18 people, because today's mission was to sail a Viking boat on the Schlei!
With a length of about 14 meters and a width of 3.5 meters, the Sigyn is one of the very few seaworthy Viking boats, and can be sailed as well as rowed. Project manager Harald Wiethe and skipper Frieder with his crew welcomed us, and the skipper first gave us a few clear instructions on how to behave on board. Everything listens to his command! Then we started in the motorized, heated dinghy for photographer Heiko Roith, a locally booked drone pilot and Sebastian. With them: camera equipment for outdoor shots, as well as pots of hot tea and coffee for the main actors.
They were not at all comfortable! 2 degrees Celsius and wind force 4, how did the old Vikings stand it? Director Andreas had to board the Sigyn without a camera assistant (the boat was full!), and was seen from far away during the day in all possible and impossible positions on board with the camera shouldered: kneeling, lying, hanging! Hats off, what a back-breaking job! The day was no walk in the park for the musicians either, they spent a whole 6 hours sailing, rowing and, as befits a music video, making music in this rough weather.
Back on land, manager Doro (again wielding a wooden spoon) was waiting with hot soup and drinks before heading back to the hostel. Hot shower, dinner, celebration drink! But not too long, because for Sunday morning director Andreas had scheduled some outdoor shooting at the Baltic Sea beach. So again for getting up and out into the cold, before we all could finally go home after an eventful, but also exhausting weekend. Being a rock star is just not a hammock ;)
